FULL MOON IN VIRGO: MARCH 16, 2014

Have you ever stood by the water and let it gently kiss your toes, gazing deep into the mysterious depths of the lake only to see your own reflection and the reflection of the moon come slowly into focus? Have you ever chased the path of the suns rays down into the depths of the ocean watching your hands glide effortlessly through the cool water? Have you ever floated beneath the stars and felt the weightlessness of your body as if you've left it entirely becoming one with the entire universe!?

The ocean symbolizes this collective unconscious, connecting us to the source.  I often remind my students of this connection in relation the moon. You hear people say things like 'I've been feeling crazy this week', 'or asking themselves why they feel so 'off'. Many people believe that the moon has the ability to make us feel a little crazy. After all, the word lunatic is derived from the Latin word for moon, Luna. Whatever you choose to believe, consider for a moment that the human body is made up of, on average, 60% water. If the moon has the power to affect the swell of the tides, surely it has some sort of pull or affect on humans.

If you are still feeling the flow and movement of the March 1st new moon in watery Pisces, enjoy its soothing embrace as we move into the full moon in Virgo, which reminds us that as much as we are a part of the whole, we are also a unique drop in the ocean of consciousness. Virgo helps us to know and accept who we really are.

Ask yourself what you need to release and what you need to learn in order to fall in love with yourself exactly as you are right here, right now. Let the light of the Virgo full moon illuminate the shadow corners of your heart. Listen intently to what your heart has to say and integrate its lessons into your life. You are your greatest guide and your very own wise woman.

As we approach the spring equinox be courteous, thoughtful and compassionate with yourself and others in order to stay grounded in your truth. To truly know yourself is to love and OWN yourself. Step into new behavior patterns with yourself and others that nurture and feed your growth. Drink from your own cup, giving yourself the same love and care you give to those you love. Watch the seeds you plant under the light of the full moon begin to take root with the arrival of spring.

Om Shanti Shanti Shanti
